XML Sitemap Generator
Create a URL sitemap or sitemap index from a local URL list or CSV. Review duplicates and dates, preview XML, and download files entirely in your browser.
Create your sitemap
Turn your own URL list into properly escaped UTF-8 XML. Files and generated output stay on your device.
Tool limits: 5 MiB UTF-8 input, 5,000 entries, 50,000 physical lines, and 10 MiB generated XML. URLs must be absolute HTTP(S), without fragments, and shorter than 2,048 characters after encoding. One scheme, host, and port per file. Blank lines are skipped.
Map CSV columns
Only URL is required. Unmapped optional fields use the defaults below or remain omitted. A mapped blank cell also uses its default. Nonblank invalid values block generation.
Optional defaults for blank fields
All defaults are empty. Enter a last-modified date only if it accurately applies to those entries. The generator never substitutes today’s date. In index mode, lastmod describes the sitemap file.
Change frequency and priority are optional protocol hints. Google ignores both; neither guarantees crawl frequency or rankings.

Review input records
Scroll inside the table to inspect all columns. Any blocking issue prevents the complete XML file; valid rows are never silently exported as a partial sitemap. Reports include every input record.

Prepare a useful sitemap
Which URLs should I include?
Supply canonical, public URLs you intend search engines to index. This generator does not crawl pages or check response codes, robots directives, canonical tags, duplicates by content, or indexing eligibility. In sitemap index mode, supply the locations of existing sitemap files; referenced files are not fetched, validated, or created.
How are duplicates and URLs handled?
URL parsing normalizes host case, default ports, dot segments, Unicode domains, and percent-escape hex case. Paths, trailing slashes, encoded versus literal characters, and query order remain significant. Identical normalized URLs with identical effective optional fields are included once. Conflicting optional fields block the whole file. Fragments and relative URLs are rejected. Supply raw URLs, not XML-escaped text; the generator applies XML entity escaping itself.
What dates and optional fields should I use?
Use the actual last significant modification date, not the generation date. Leave lastmod blank when unknown. Supported dates are YYYY-MM-DD or a full date-time with a timezone. Future dates receive a review note. Defaults apply only to unmapped or blank optional cells, and never replace invalid nonblank values. Priority and change frequency are omitted when blank. Sitemap indexes support loc and lastmod only.
How do I publish the XML?
Download the complete UTF-8 file and publish it on the same site as its entries, preferably at the site root so page URLs are within its scope. Reference it from robots.txt or submit its public URL in Search Console. This tool does not publish or submit files. It uses one scheme, host, and port per file; cross-site verification is outside its scope. A sitemap helps discovery but does not guarantee indexing.
What are the size and privacy limits?
The sitemap protocol allows up to 50,000 entries and 50 MiB uncompressed per file. This browser tool deliberately limits input to 5,000 entries and 5 MiB, with a 10 MiB output cap. Split larger collections into separate files and use an index if needed. The preview shows up to 100 entries; copy and XML download always contain the complete file. CSV reports retain all rows and escape spreadsheet formula prefixes. All processing stays in memory without network requests, uploads, or browser storage.
