Marketing Tools

UTM Builder

Create consistent campaign URLs with UTM parameters. Build individual links or process a local CSV, preserve existing URL details, and copy or download results in your browser.

Build a campaign URL

Create tagged links for external campaigns. No URLs are opened and no analytics account is connected.

Use the full destination URL, including https://. Existing non-UTM query parameters and fragments are retained.

Where the visitor comes from, such as newsletter, linkedin, or a partner name.

The marketing channel, such as email, cpc, organic_social, or referral.

A consistent name identifying this campaign, such as autumn_launch.

Optional campaign fields

An optional campaign identifier matching your reporting conventions.

Differentiate creatives or placements, such as hero_button or footer_link.

An optional paid keyword or other campaign term.

An optional source platform, such as the buying platform used for the campaign.

Replace removes every existing utm_ query key, including optional and unrecognized keys, then adds the form values. Import tags first if you want to reuse them. Other query parameters remain unchanged.

Naming options apply to campaign values only, never the destination URL. Enter plain text; encoding happens automatically. The three starred fields are required by this builder for consistent campaign links.

These are the effective values after your naming options. Review spelling and letter case before sharing.

Build links in bulk from CSV

Import a local campaign table or paste CSV/TSV. Columns are suggested automatically and can be mapped below. CSV URLs always supply the destination.

Limits: 5 MiB UTF-8 input, 5,000 rows, 100 columns, 10,000 characters per CSV cell, and 10 MiB combined generated URLs. Malformed CSV is rejected without a partial import.

The form’s naming options and existing-UTM policy apply to every row. Nonblank CSV campaign fields override the form. Edits automatically refresh the batch and disable stale exports.

    Use UTM links consistently

    What do UTM parameters do?

UTM parameters label external campaign links so a configured analytics system can attribute traffic. Source identifies the referrer, medium identifies the channel, and campaign identifies the initiative. This builder requires all three as a naming convention. Campaign ID, content, term, and source platform are optional. A generated link does not install analytics, verify collection, or guarantee a reporting result.

    Should I normalize names?

Choose a consistent spelling and letter-case convention for reporting. Values are preserved by default, apart from outer whitespace trimming and Unicode NFC normalization. Optional lowercase and underscore settings make deliberate naming changes, shown in the preview. Enter plain text, not percent-encoded values. The URL is encoded automatically, with spaces represented as %20 and literal plus signs as %2B.

What happens to existing URL parameters?

Replace mode removes all utm_ query parameters, ignoring key case, including repeated, optional, and unrecognized UTM keys. Only supplied campaign values are added. Block mode prevents generation when any UTM keys already exist. Import tags from URL fills the supported fields without editing them if conflicting duplicates or invalid encoding are found. Importing does not change Block mode. Other query tokens keep their order, duplicates, and existing encoding; fragments are retained after the query string. Browser URL parsing can normalize the host, default port, path, and Unicode URL characters.

What should I review before sharing?

Use campaign links for external acquisition campaigns; internal navigation usually needs event tracking instead. Do not put personal, secret, or sensitive data in UTM values: URLs can be visible to recipients, servers, and analytics systems. Existing advertising click identifiers are retained, but combining manual UTMs with auto-tagging requires care. Adding tags may invalidate signed URLs. Confirm the destination and your analytics configuration yourself; this tool never fetches the page or checks tracking.

    How does bulk generation work?

Map the destination URL column and your campaign fields. If form defaults are enabled, a blank or unmapped campaign field uses the corresponding form value. Nonblank CSV fields override defaults, including invalid values that must be corrected. Source, medium, and campaign must be available from either the CSV or form. Repeated generated URLs are flagged and retained. Each URL is limited to 8,192 input characters and 16,384 output characters; campaign fields accept 200 input characters. These are tool safeguards, not universal browser or analytics limits.

Does this tool send or save my data?

All link construction, local file decoding, copying, and downloads happen in your browser. There are no processing requests, uploads, analytics connections, shortening services, or browser storage. Single-link downloads contain the complete generated URL. Bulk text downloads include every valid link across pages; the CSV report includes all records and escapes spreadsheet formula prefixes. Invalid imports do not produce partial results, and input changes disable stale exports.
