Before going abroad and while being abroad I often hear the phrase, “Make the most of your experience.” While the sentiment certainly rings true, and should for any student abroad, it also puts a lot of pressure on your experience.
You’ll be amazed at the number of courses available to you. The Faculty of Arts alone has more than 400 subjects in 40 departments. Add to that other popular Faculties like Science, Engineering, and Commerce and Economics, and the hardest part will be deciding what to take.
Before Going Abroad
As the semester comes to an end, I’m feeling very conflicted. I’m really going to miss Granada and it’s beauty. I’m going to miss speaking Spanish and traveling. I think a little more than that, though, I’m excited to go home.
When I initially began my study abroad experience the first few weeks felt more like a vacation and it didn’t feel like I was actually going to be living in Scotland for five months. My first week in Aberdeenshire was hectic as I was settling in.
This is not my first trip to Europe. I have actually traveled to Italy twice so far – once my sophomore year of college for a course called Sophomore International Experience and also as part of a family trip I took this past summer.
